Osaka Gas Liquide has established a fully-owned company to produce and sell liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2) and dry ice in Nagaoka City, Niigata. The plant will be the company’s first industrial gas plant outside the Kansai district.

Carbon dioxide is a by-product gas generated in oil refinery facilities or from an ammonia producing process. In recent years the supply of crude CO2 has ran short over the country due to the down-scaling of producer’s facilities.

Nagaoka Tansan of the new company is the second CO2 gas plant following Kinki Tansan, which was invested by Osaka Gas Liquid, Nippon Ekitan and others.

The production capacity is 4,500t tonnes per month, but the specifications of other capacities (LCO2gas purification and storage and the output of dry ice) are still now under consideration.
