Two Taiwan-based warehouses operated by the Nippon Sanso Holdings Group’s Nippon Sanso Taiwan, Inc. have received awards from the Environmental Protection Administration of the Executive Yuan of Taiwan.
The company’s Toufen warehouse received the ‘Excellence Award of Regional Joint Defense Team Operation’, while the Tainan warehouse won the ‘Excellence Award of Regional Joint Defense Team Practice Test’.
Currently tightening regulations on all aspects of handling various chemicals used as raw materials, the Taiwanese government also recently amended its toxic chemical law to reflect more stringent controls on ‘concerned substances’.
Under the Toxic Chemicals and Concerned Substances Control Act (TCCSCA), manufacturers or importers of new substances or existing chemical substances must apply to the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) for chemical substances registration.
To raise awareness of the new ‘Toxicological and Related Chemicals Management Act’, the EPA and the Environmental Protection Bureau (EPB) of the local government held the National Environment Accident Case Review Meeting 2022 in Taichung City on November 29th 2022.
