0

Back in 2011, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of the China government, together with other departments, promulgated a document titled Guidance of Developing Natural Gas Distributive Energy (Fa Gai Neng Yuan[2011] No. 2196) (the Guidance) in which it said the overall energy utilisation efficiency could achieve 70% or higher by the tri-generation of coldness, heating and electric power using natural gas and the cascade use of energy.

It is a modern energy supply mode by realising energy supply in the vicinity of load centres, and an important way to utilise natural gas with high efficiency.

Moreover, energy conservation and utilisation efficiency have always been at the top of the priority list of the Chinese Government. China has set a previous target of a reduction of emissions relative to its economic growth, by 40-45% by 2020, compared to 2005 levels, and it will reduce emissions of major pollutants in the power sector by 60% by 2020 – equivalent to 180 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2).
