Air Water has said that from 1st October, its eight regional business companies will be integrated into three, The Gas Review reports.

The three companies, for Hokkaido, East Japan and West Japan, will all hold the Air Water name, becoming Air Water Hokkaido, Air Water Higashinihon and Air Water Nishinihon.

Air Water Hokkaido will emerge from Hokkaido Air Water; Air Water Higashinihon from the four regional business companies in Tohoku, Kanto, Koshinetsu, and Chubu; and Air Water Nishinihon from the three regional business companies in Kinki, Chugoku/Shikoku, and Kyushu.

Through the merging of companies, Air Water hopes to increase its presence in each region and expand its new business range using M&A, along with other methods, to quickly allow each regional business to exceed a ¥1bn ($950m) business entity.

Air Water said that by integrating its regional companies, it plans to expand community-based and new business areas without being limited by its current business framework.
