Air Products breaks ground on $1bn hydrogen project

On a virtual 22nd China Zhejiang Investment and Trade Fair, Air Products broke ground on its Haiyan Hydrogen Energy Base Project, located in Jiaxing, China.

According to Gas Ecosphere, Zhang Bing, Secretary of the Jiaxing Municipal Part Committee, Mayor Mao Hongfang, Su Junxiong, President of Air Products China, and Yu Feng, Vice-President, all attended the ground-breaking ceremony.

Su Junxiong, President of Air Products China, said, “The successful foundation of the project has benefited from the great assistance of Zhejiang Provience, Jiaxing City and Haiyan County.”

“Through cooperation and hard work, the hydrogen energy base project will be successfully completed and will contribute to local economic and social development.”

The $1bn project will be divided into three phases of, hydrogen energy preparation and packaging, hydrogen energy industry key equipment parts manufacturing, and hydrogen energy utilisation demonstration city construction.
